Information Technology

The Information Technology team at the Attorney General’s Office assists the attorneys, investigators, and other professionals of the office with their technology needs.  The IT team is also responsible for the policies and practices that keep confidential information private and secure.



Russell Armstrong,
Chief Information Officer/Information Technology

Russell Armstrong joined the Attorney General’s Office in January 2020. He serves as the Chief Technical Officer for the agency and has more than 27 years of experience in Information Technology.

Armstrong was previously the Director of Information Technology for the Office of the State Treasurer and has 18 years of state service working in IT. He is a graduate of Holmes Community College with a degree in Electronics.

Russell and his wife Julie have two children Abbey and Jay. The family resides in the Pisgah Community in Rankin County.
