Debbee Hancock, Communications Director

Debbee Hancock serves as the Communications Director for the Mississippi Attorney General's Office. In this role, Debbee oversees external communications and media relations. Debbee comes to the Mississippi Attorney General's Office with 15 years experience managing communications for elected officials and business leaders at the local, state, and national level.

After graduating from Southern Methodist University, Debbee began her career as a press secretary in the U.S. House of Representatives. In addition to handling press for several members of Congress, Debbee served as a spokesperson for the U.S. House Committee on Energy and Commerce where she developed messaging for healthcare reform, telecommunications policies, and led media relations for several high-profile congressional investigations. After leaving Capitol Hill, Debbee managed public affairs for Uber, WeWork, Children's Medical Center Dallas, and served as a consultant for several early-stage startups. Prior to coming to the Mississippi Attorney General's Office, Debbee directed communications for Alabama Governor Kay Ivey's 2018 campaign and inaugural committee.
