Hattiesburg Resident Arrested for Child Exploitation

December 11, 2013

A Hattiesburg resident has been arrested on charges of child exploitation, announced Attorney General Jim Hood today.

William Conley, 40, of Hattiesburg was arrested on a warrant at his home Tuesday by the Attorney General’s Cyber Crime Unit/Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, with assistance from the Forrest County Sheriff’s Department.  He is charged with three counts of child exploitation for allegedly possessing images of child pornography.

Conley was booked into the Forrest County Detention Center and is being held without bond pending an initial appearance in Justice Court.  If convicted, he faces up to 40 years behind bars per count.  As with all cases, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
