Jackson, MS—A Columbia resident faces charges of felonious sexual battery of a vulnerable adult, announced Attorney General Jim Hood today.

Curtis Daniel Hibley, 39, turned himself in to authorities today after a Marion County Grand Jury indicted him on two counts of felonious sexual battery of a vulnerable person. The Medicaid Fraud Control Unit of the Attorney General’s Office brought the charges after an investigation.

Hibley faces a maximum of 60 years in prison and a fine of up to $20,000 for allegedly engaging in sexual penetration with a vulnerable person over whom he held a position of trust or authority. Hibley was related to the victim.&amp;nbsp; According to the indictment, the first alleged act occurred on or about November 24, 2010, and the second on November 26, 2010, while the victim was visiting in Hibley’s home.

At the time of the incidents, the victim was a resident of Pineview Community Group Home. The victim has multiple diagnoses of illness, which include cerebral palsy and mild mental retardation.

Bond has been set for Hibley at $80,000. As with all cases, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

Chief Investigator Randolph Brown investigated the case and Special Assistant Attorney General Sue Perry will be prosecuting the case.</description>
