FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Jackson, Miss.- A New Albany man has been arrested on charges that he exploited two vulnerable adults, announced Attorney General Jim Hood today.
Rodney Windham, age 23, of 1214 County Road 146, New Albany, was arrested yesterday by the Union County Sheriffs Office and the Vulnerable Adult Unit of the Attorney Generals Office on two counts of exploitation of a vulnerable adult.
Windhams bond has been set for $22,000; however, the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC) has placed a hold on his release. If convicted, he faces up to 10 years in the custody of MDOC, and up to $10,000 in fines per count.
Windham was related to his victims.
“It is always important to keep an eye on everyone who is around your elderly relatives,” said Attorney General Hood. “You cant always trust the people you should be able to.”
As with all cases, the charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
