Jackson, MS- A Sardis man has been arrested this week and charged with possession of child pornography, announced Attorney General Jim Hood today.
James Earl Davis, age 48 of 93 Shonnah Rd, Sardis, MS, was arrested yesterday by investigators with the Attorney General’s Cyber Crime Division with assistance from the Panola County Sheriffs Department. He was charged with one count of possession of child porn.
The arrest was made as part of the Attorney General’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) task force.
“Technology works both ways, and fortunately it’s working to help us clean up cyber space,” said Attorney General Hood.
Davis was booked into the Panola County Jail and is being held without bond pending his initial appearance. If convicted, he faces up to 40 years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC).
As with all cases, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
