FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Jackson, MS—A Pass Christian man has been arrested on a charge of Felony Home Repair Fraud as a result of a Grand Jury Indictment, announced Attorney General Jim Hood.
A Gulfport homeowner filed a complaint against Scott Anthony Colson (age 49) alleging that Colson billed for work he never completed and also for some work he never started. An investigation was conducted by the Consumer Protection Division of the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office and presented to the Harrison County Grand Jury , which returned an indictment. As a result, Colson was arrested yesterday, March 23, by a Harrison County Sheriff’s Deputy assigned to the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force, who was assisted by a Gulfport Police Officer. Colson was booked into the Harrison County Adult Detention Center, and will have bond sent once he appears before a Circuit Court Judge.
This is the second Felony Home Repair Fraud charge filed against Colson by the Consumer Protection Division of the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office within the past year.
As with all cases the charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
