FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

JACKSON, Miss.—An employee of a facility for the mentally retarded has been indicted for fondling a resident in a case investigated by the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office.

Frankie Weatherby, 29, of Sallis, MS surrendered on Tuesday to the Madison County Sheriff’s Department on a two-count indictment for fondling a vulnerable adult by a person in a position of trust or authority.

“Persons in positions of authority who harm our most vulnerable citizens can expect to be fully prosecuted with the intent to put them behind bars,” said Attorney General Jim Hood.

The Indictment alleges that Weatherby fondled a resident of SON Valley, an intermediate care facility for the mentally retarded, in Madison County while he was employed as a resident
assistant.

The case is being handled by the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit of the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office.
