Arrest Made in Death of USM Student

Jackson, MS–Attorney General Jim Hood today confirmed that an arrest has been made in the 2002 death of a student attending the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg.  Jennifer D. Wardle (DOB 02-10-81), of 126 Old Highway 49, Brooklyn, MS, was taken into custody on Tuesday, November 6, 2007, by Investigators with the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation following an October 10 indictment by a Lamar County Grand Jury. 

Wardle is charged with Murder in the death of Neal May on May 1, 2002.  She was taken to the Lamar County Jail where she has since bonded out.  A trial date has not been set.  The Attorney General’s Office will be handling prosecution of the case.
