Public Integrity

The Mississippi Attorney General, through its Public Integrity Division (PID), is resolutely committed to accountability and transparency to all Mississippians. The PID is focused on ensuring trust in public service. It primarily investigates and prosecutes public corruption and white-collar crime, including investigations and review of officer involved shootings, allegations of improper uses of force, abuse of power, and other misconduct of public officials. PID is also responsible for the prosecution of distinct types of criminal cases, including insurance fraud, mail and wire fraud, public assistance fraud, and exploitation of vulnerable adults. The office therefore readily receives information regarding the potential violation of Mississippi law involving public integrity.

Special Victims Unit

The Attorney General’s Special Victims Unit is a specialized unit with the Public Integrity Division that focuses on crimes against vulnerable populations, such as children, the elderly, adults with special needs, as well as victims of sexual assault, human trafficking, and domestic violence. The unit is comprised of 12 investigators and prosecutors who are highly experienced and uniquely equipped at handling these types of victim-centered criminal cases.
